Cu Chi tunnels

Crawl through the Cu Chi tunnels. In order to get here, you can either book a tour or just take a city bus by yourself. Located on the outskirts of Saigon, these tunnels showcase the Viet Cong method of warfare. It is indeed a matter of intrique to know how this homegrown outfit survived the might and the onslaught of the American Artillery. Communists began digging these around the 1940’s. These tunnels stretch to over 250 km till the Cambodian border.
With increased aerial bombing by American troops, these tunnels were extensively used to house entire villages. Cu chi tunnels clearly played a major role during the war, as a result, these have been preserved as one of the war memorial sites of Vietnam. As a part of the tour one can crawl through the tunnels, shoot the targets and eat the meals soldiers used to have during the war. Avoid this tour is you tend to get claustrophobic in constricted places.
