You would never guess this romantic restaurant would be hidden among a number of guesthouses, small sois and ramshackle bars, but it is…which kind of makes it all the more lovely. Located in an old teak wooden house, Dash! offers solid Thai food, think green papaya salad, a variety of curries and stir fry dishes, and some Western standbys, in a warm and inviting atmosphere. Diners can eat inside the two-story house, out on the porch or in the garden that are especially beautiful lit up once the sun goes down. Though prices here are a little more than what you would expect at a typical Thai restaurant (it is geared more toward tourists and foreigners), the service and environment are well worth it.

Due to its popularity and intimate setting you may have to wait a little for a table, especially during the high season but don’t worry, service here is helpful and quick – the friendly staff are known for their service and speak excellent English - and it won’t hurt to relax a little before your meal with a drink at the bar. Make sure to save room for dessert as the restaurant boast some of the best cheesecake in Chiang Mai.
