If you haven’t been overwhelmed yet with the history of Egypt, then wait till you visit The Museum of Egyptian Antiquities. It will surely win you over with its exquisite collections of Archaeological finds. The museum is filled up to its brim with artefacts dug up from surrounding areas and from other sites along the Nile. It contains world’s largest collection of Pharaonic antiquities. The most famous attraction of the museum is the gold mask of Tutankhamun, which weighs 11 kg. It has a room full of artefacts recovered from Tutankhamun’s tomb with pictorial depiction of how things were discovered in various chambers of the tomb. The museum also houses golden mask of king Amenemope, Statue of Khafre, Statue of Menkaure, jewellery collections, funerary collections from various tombs and archaeological sites. It is advisable to leave your mobile and cameras outside as nothing is allowed inside. Get there early to avoid the serpentine queue; this is presumably the most interesting museum in the world!
