Supposed to be a fantastic diving site, Gili Mimpang is also called Batu Tiga that translates to three rocks in Indonesian language. In fact, it is composed of 3 large rocks in addition to 6 smaller ones. It is a great place to see whitetip reef sharks and the rare wobbegong sharks and the very rare coral cat. It is also possible to catch sights of mola mola in the right season (between July and October), crimson basslets, yellowfish, bannerfish and angelfish. More rarely, whale sharks can also be spotted. The visibility at Gili Mimpang is between 10 to 25 m. The bottom is white sand, but there are rocks and boulders. The site is between 6 and 27 m deep. It is a challenging dive due to the strong currents, and thus, is suitable only for experienced divers.
