There have been some roads built along some villages in the beginning of the trek. This difficult trek passes through undulating landscapes, zigzagging paths and plunges through to the idyllic villages of Skyumpata, Lingshed, and over the passes of Hanuma La and Parfi La. The remote Lingshed monastery is an oasis of hope in the otherwise barren landscape. The Lamayuru to Padum Trek is not to be attempted as a first-time trek not without adequate preparation, ponies and a guide.
Route: Lamayuru – Wanla – Hanupatta - Sisir La- Photoksar - Sengge La – Lingshed - Hanuma La – Snertse - Parfi La – Hanumil – Pishu – Karsha - Padum
Landscape: Beautiful villages set amidst valleys, many passes and therefore lots of ups and downs, beautiful mountain landscapes
Best time to go: June-October
Difficulty Level: Moderate-Difficult
