A love of South East Asia saw Asha leave her homeland of Australia for the hot nights and cool breezes of tropical Asia. She has been based in Cambodia for the past 4 years and travelled extensively around the world, eating, drinking and walking until it's time to eat again.

One of the city’s newest bars is also one of its best. Che Culo is an unassuming little bar/restaurant on St 302 in Phnom Penh’s ‘more-expensive-but-not-quite-upmarket’ suburb of BKK1.

A chilled-out spot with great music and a nice little courtyard, Che Culo is the perfect place for an after-work drink with friends or a pre-dinner drink or snack. However the menu is always changing and the food is so good that sometimes it is just too hard to move on.

What’s missing from a lot of great bars in Asia is a great publican. That is not an issue for Che Culo—the bar’s owner Nick (brains behind the bars fantastic menu and delicious drinks’ list) is a larger than life character, who is usually around to have a chat and make you feel very welcome.

Check the Che Culo Facebook page for regular specials like taco night, slow-cooked kebab night or the famous meatballs.

Why go?
Great small plates from a changing menu, great cocktails and a damn good vibe.
