Resting comfortably between the lakes Brienz and Thun, Interlaken is a favourite with those who nurse a soft corner for adventure sports and is equally loved by honeymooners from all over the world. And they have every reason to do so as Bollywood's biggest blockbuster 'Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge' was majorly shot here. The well-heeled sections of the society also have an affinity towards this ski resort possibly probably owing to the many luxury hotels luring them with all the decadence they have to offer. And for the hardcore travellers, the scenery, replete with its wondrous snow-capped peaks, formidable pine trees and its perfectly emerald lakes makes Interlaken a heaven on earth.

When in Interlaken, the presence of the otherwise icy and distant Jungfrau, Eiger and Monch is oddly comforting, especially when the sun is shining in all its glory. Interlaken is served by two train stations: Interlaken Ost and Interlaken West. Frequent trains connect the stations to Bern, the Swiss capital and most other destinations in and around Switzerland. Getting around Interlaken is extremely easy if you are a fan of walking. However, taxis, albeit expensive, are available and so are horse carriages for a price of about 50 CHF.
