How to use smart compose feature in Google Chat

Tired of typing out the same phrases over and over? Google Chat's Smart Compose can help. This handy tool suggests text completions as you type, saving you time and effort. This machine-learning powered feature suggests relevant contextual phrases as you type, saves you time by cutting back on repetitive writing, and also reduces spelling and grammatical errors. Here’s how to activate and use this helpful tool.

Here's how to use it:
Checking if smart compose is enabled

* Desktop:

* Open Gmail and access Settings (click the cog icon).

* Select "See all settings" and navigate to the "Chat" tab.

* Look for the "Smart Compose" option and ensure it's turned on.

* Mobile:

* Open the Google Chat app.

* Unfortunately, there's no direct way to enable or disable Smart Compose on the mobile app currently. It's automatically enabled.

Using smart compose
Once enabled, Smart Compose will suggest text completions as you type in a chat message. To use these suggestions:

* Accept Suggestion: If you like the suggestion, simply continue typing. The suggestion will be automatically added to your message.

* Ignore Suggestion: If you don't like the suggestion, keep typing and the suggestion will disappear.

Note: Smart Compose learns from your writing style and improves its suggestions over time.
