Sreesanth talks about his love life, marriage and controversy

Sreesanth talks about his outburst on Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa: It seems like it was a bad day for the former cricketer Sreesanth, who participated in the dance reality show to get connected with the people after his cricket controversy. However, the passionate dancer lost the battle to win the competition as he got eliminated from the show. In a chat with Bombay Times, Sreesanth opened up about his aggressive behaviour and disappointment on loosing the competition. He said, "It was just a bad day. I had got hit on my head some time before that and was in deep pain. I was not all there and really didn't mean to behave that way or upset anybody. I respect all the three judges very much. It's because of the pain that I wanted to get out of the set. In fact, once I got into the vanity and got some medication, I immediately sent a text to Remo Sir. I told him I didn't mean to behave that way and asked him to convey my message to Karan sir and Madhuri ma'am too."

Sreesanth needs no introduction. The former Indian cricketer will now make his public appearance through National Television as he is all set to participate in Colors' dance reality show, Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 7. After impressing fans with his bowling skills, Sreesanth now is all set to impress the three judges (Remo D'souza, Madhuri Dixit and Karan Johar) and the audiences with his dancing talent. In a candid conversation with Sreesanth, the former cricketer talked about how his wife Bhuvneshwari Kumari stood as a support system before and after the 2013 controversy.

For the uninitiated, Sreesanth was banned from playing cricket by the BCCI, for his involvement in spot-fixing in the 2013 IPL season. "My wife has always been a support system to my family and me. Even before the controversy she was always in touch with my family. When I was injured and I was out of cricket for 18 months, she was constantly in touch with me. She used to mail me songs, modulations and stuff. So I should say, it was a very nice gesture by her towards me and my family," remembers Sreesanth.

"It was love at first sight for me but she was a school girl for me. It was only after I realised her care and concern for me, I fell for her. Because we don't get love and care from all the people we stay around with but fortunately, I fell in love and eventually got married to her even after going through the tough situations. We were anyways going to get married in September 2013 but I was doubtful whether I should get married or not after the controversy that happened. But fortunately, her family came down to Kochin and told us that we are going ahead with the marriage. I think that is the toughest situation for any girl to accept the proposal and get married," adds Sreesanth.

On being asked whether Sreesanth and his wife Bhavneshwari's was a love marriage, Sreesanth replied ,"My mother decided that I should settle down in life and live life rather than dwell in the past. Mine was not a love marriage completely. It was a love which was arranged by both the families. We never proposed to each other. We never not holding hands and walking around. I remember I holding her hands for the first time during our wedding. It was only when her father gave her hand in my hand during some ritual before, that my love story was like a 1942 love story.

"I started falling for her after my surgery in 2012 because I was on the wheel chair for almost two months and was on clutches for two months and my cricket contract also ended. And Bhuvaneshwari was the one who encouraged me and said that you should do what you like to do in life and was always there for me. She always messaged me that you can still play cricket and I was like I have two world cups and I can't play cricket. But she always supported me. Finally in 2013 we decided to get married."
