Tommy Dreamer on Penta and Rey Fenix

Speaking on Busted Open, Tommy Dreamer praised Penta's potential in WWE.

He said: "He being Penta had so much buzz forever, and then to finally get to where he is. Again, think of the marketing, his size. People don't realize how much of a bigger dude he is, and his in-ring ability is phenomenal. The masks alone, the t-shirts; eventually Rey Mysterio will retire. So, who's going to be the next person to step up and be that person? He's definitely one of them. Same with his brother [Rey Fenix]."

Dreamer explained how Penta's popularity and skills make him a great choice to follow in Rey Mysterio’s footsteps. He also mentioned that Rey Fenix, who might join WWE soon, has similar potential to carry the torch for Lucha Libre.

Rey Mysterio’s Career and Current Rivalries

In 2023, Rey Mysterio entered the WWE Hall of Fame and had a memorable match against his son, Dominik, at WrestleMania 39. After the match, he focused on leading the Latino World Order on SmackDown.

Even as a Hall of Famer, Rey hasn’t slowed down. He won the United States Championship and battled Santos Escobar and the Legado Del Fantasma group heading into WrestleMania XL. Recently, he moved to Monday Night RAW, where his faction is now feuding with The New Day.

On the latest RAW episode, Rey defeated Kofi Kingston in a one-on-one match but was attacked by Xavier Woods afterward.

Rey Mysterio’s legacy is unmatched, but stars like Penta and Rey Fenix could be the future of WWE’s Lucha Libre tradition.
