The unseeded German duo of Hendrick Jebens and Constantin Frantzen proved too strong for the second-seeded pair, securing a straight-set victory with a score of 6-3, 7-6 (4) in just over an hour of play.

Bopanna and Ebden, who had previously triumphed at the Australian Open, found themselves on the back foot early in the match when they surrendered a break in the opening set.

This solitary break was sufficient for Jebens and Frantzen to establish a lead and gain the upper hand in the contest.

The second set was interrupted by rain when the score was tied at five games apiece, with neither team managing to secure a service break.

However, upon the match's resumption, Jebens and Frantzen seized control in the tie-breaker, quickly establishing a commanding 4-1 lead.

From that point on, they never relinquished their advantage, ultimately clinching the set and the match.
