Andy Murray, a two-time
Wimbledon champion, has stated that his condition is progressing daily following a surgical procedure on his back. However, he intends to wait until Monday evening before making a final decision regarding his participation in the singles competition.
The 37-year-old Murray revealed that the surgery, which was performed to remove a cyst compressing his nerves in his back, had resulted in a significant loss of control in his right leg.
"I'm doing some physical testing in the morning to see sort of how far off I am from a physical perspective. Then I will probably make a decision tomorrow evening after that," Reuters quoted Murray as saying to reporters on Sunday.
"I still have stitches in my back now. Yeah, the actual area where I had the operation is not sore. It's the leg and the function of my leg that will determine whether or not I'm able to play."
Murray is set to face Tomas Machac in his opening match on Tuesday.
