PARIS: Holger Rune is a sleepaholic. The 20-year-old sleeps anywhere between 9 to 13 hours a day. "I love to sleep," he announced, as if he were drawing attention to a talent. "I think it's the best recovery that you can have. The muscles relax, everything relaxes when you sleep," he said, adding, "Then when I'm awake I'm fully awake."

Sleeping and dreaming is Rune's thing. "Sometimes I dream about tennis, sometimes not. Can be random things too that I dream about,'' he said. "Sometimes I have very good dreams, I stand there with the trophy and stuff, but then when you wake up, you're, like, Oh, s#@t, I'm still in bed."

"Then when you turn those dreams into reality it feels even better," he said. "You remember, that's actually what I dreamt about. But then when you wake up from a good dream, it's not as fun."

At Roland Garros the 20-year-old Dane had time to indulge, especially after his second round opponent Monfils pulled out before their meeting. Rune, who has spent 4 hours and 51 minutes on court this week for his two matches, ended Argentine qualifier Genaro Alberto Olivieri's run with a 6-4, 6-1, 6-3 result.

Rune's phone buzzed, waking him up to announce an injured Monfils had pulled out. The sixth seed then scheduled a long practice session, he played points, a set and tired himself out. "I think if you play the second-round match you keep the rhythm," he said. "But on the other hand, it's a good thing because I got to rest my body fully and got a few more practice days."
