NEW DELHI: Fourteen-time
French Open champion
Rafael Nadal on Monday all but eliminated the possibility of him competing in the Wimbledon this year.
The Spanish great said that participating in the tournament before the Olympics would not be a wise decision.
Earlier, Nadal lost in the first round of the French Open to Alexander Zverev 6-3 7-6(5) 6-3 in what might turn out to be the 14-time Roland Garros champion's last match at his favourite tournament.
"I can't confirm anything, but I don't think it's smart after everything my body has been through," said Nadal after being knocked out of the French Open by Alexander Zverev in the first round.
"It will be difficult playing on grass considering that right after Wimbledon are the Olympic Games."
