NEW DELHI: US Open champion Coco Gauff continued her impressive run at the Australian Open by breezing through to the fourth round after a dominant victory over fellow American Alycia Parks.

Gauff displayed her prowess on the court, defeating Parks with a commanding scoreline of 6-0, 6-2.

The world number four has maintained a flawless record at the season-opening Grand Slam, not dropping a set in the tournament so far.

Gauff's performance suggests she is a strong contender for a deep run in Melbourne, where she has yet to progress beyond the fourth round.

"I'm really happy with how I played today," said the 19-year-old Gauff, emphasizing her satisfaction with her return of serve and aggressive play.

Despite the scoreline, Gauff acknowledged the challenge posed by her opponent, stating, "The scoreline says different but she's a difficult player, and she hits the ball big."

Gauff dominated her 82nd-ranked opponent right from the start, securing breaks at her first opportunities and repeating the feat twice more in a one-sided first set that lasted just 31 minutes.

While Parks showed resilience at the beginning of the second set, Gauff maintained her control, breaking in the fifth game and securing the win.

In the upcoming fourth round, Gauff awaits the winner of the match between Poland's Magdalena Frech and Russian qualifier Anastasia Zakharova. The young tennis sensation is poised for a potential deep run in the tournament, with fans eagerly anticipating her performances in the later stages of the Australian Open.
