Despite a valiant effort, the Tokyo 2020 silver medallist fell to China's Ying Zhou in a hard-fought 1-3 match (12-14, 9-11, 11-8, 6-11).

While Patel's individual campaign has ended, the Indian Paralympic contingent continues to shine in Paris, achieving a historic milestone.

Surpassing their previous best of 19 medals at the Tokyo Paralympics, the Indian athletes have already secured an impressive 21 medals (3 gold, 7 silver, 10 bronze) and are poised to further elevate this record in the remaining days of the Games.

This achievement underscores the remarkable progress of India's para-sports ecosystem, reflected in the participation of its largest-ever contingent of 84 athletes across 12 disciplines.

Adding to the medal haul, Monday and Tuesday witnessed a surge in Indian success with 13 medals added to the tally. This included notable performances in athletics with a double podium finish in the men's high jump T6 final.
