BCCI secretary Jay Shah helps KKR’s Sheldon Jackson get ICU bed for aunt

BCCI secretary Jay Shah on Friday helped Kolkata Knight Riders batsman Sheldon Jackson, who played for a long time for Saurashtra before shifting to play for Puducherry last season, arrange an ICU bed for his aunt, ailing seriously with Covid-19, in Bhavnagar.

MUMBAI: BCCI secretary Jay Shah on Friday helped Kolkata Knight Riders batsman Sheldon Jackson, who played for a long time for Saurashtra before shifting to play for Puducherry last season, arrange an ICU bed for his aunt, ailing seriously with Covid-19, in Bhavnagar.
Acknowledging Shah’s help, Jackson tweeted: “Very grateful to you sir @JayShah for your assurance to take care of my aunt's medical needs.

I also Thank all my senior cricketers and journalists who helped me in spreading the word so fast.”

In a statement along with the tweet, the batsman wrote: “This is to confirm that we have managed to get an ICU for my aunty. With all my heart, I want to thank all my seniors for helping me to spread the message. I graciously thank Mr Jay Shah for showing immediate concern and assuring me all medical assistance towards my aunt. Thank you addl collector Dharmesh Patel sir and Rahul Sanghvi sir for your kind concern and help.”
Earlier on Friday, Jackson had written on Twitter that his aunt was serious and needed an ICU bed urgently. “I need an icu urgently in bhavnagar for my aunty ,she’s very serious @Collectorbhav if you please help sir,” Jackson wrote. When a few people put a few contact numbers for help, Jackson tweeted: “I have called every hospital. This info is not true. No beds available. The authorities say the info isn’t correctly updated. Thank you.”'
