“You move Quinn Hughes”: Why are NHL analysts urging Canucks to trade away Quinn Hughes from the team?

As trade rumors are swirling around Vancouver Canucks’ captain Quinn Hughes because of the team’s inconsistent and poor performance, NHL analyst Cam Robinson is of the view that the Canucks’ should decide to trade away the captain from the team. He is of the opinion that the trade decision should be taken by the management sooner than expected.

Quinn Hughes is considered one of the best players of the team. The 26-year-old forward has scored 22 points in 22 games so far while logging more than 27 minutes per night. He continues to be drive the transition offense in the Canucks’ most dire situations.
Over the years, the player has proved his leadership qualities while staying as a captain for the team. However, now speculations suggest that he would be traded to another team.

NHL analyst urges Vancouver Canucks to trade away Quinn Hughes soon

After Vancouver Canucks’ poor display of performance this season, the NHL analyst are urging the Canucks to drop Quinn Hughes from captaincy, and trade him away as soon as possible from the team. This reaction triggered after Hughes failed to give his best as a player and as a captain of the team.


Analyst Cam Robinson, speaking on the “Sekeres and Price Podcast” on Tuesday, without any hesitation said that, “Yeah, I am. I think obviously nothing is 100% in this world, and I am not sitting next to Quinn and hearing him talk about his future, but I think that the writing is very much on the wall about where this is going to end up, and I have mentally prepared myself for that, and I think most people probably have to.”

He further added that the team has to make this decision sooner rather than later, “I think the wisest thing for this team at this point is, like, it’s tough to give up a player like that, but if you know you’re going to, you’ve got to do it sooner rather than later.
“You move Quinn Hughes this year automatically, you get a bigger return, but the side bar that your team is much, much worse, and you get a lottery pick…..,” Robinson added lastly.

As of the standings, the Canucks are currently at 10-14-3 and seventh in the Pacific Division, and the reason for this inconsistency is their inability to hold leads in the crucial times. Quinn Hughes is signed through the 2026-27 season before becoming an unrestricted free agent. However, trade rumors are hinting his link towards the New Jersey Devils, where his brothers are associated. But, the Canucks have not confirmed and insisted that they are not trading their captain any time soon.
