In an online Q&A, Murphy did not mince words: "I am not a fan of this play. There is no skill involved and it is almost an automatic first down on plays of a yard or less.” He also referenced a controversial moment during the NFC Championship Game, where the Washington Commanders were warned by officials for repeatedly jumping offsides in an attempt to stop the Eagles' Tush Push near the goal line. Murphy suggested that the league should return to the old rule prohibiting players from pushing or aiding the runner, stating, “This would bring back the traditional QB sneak. That worked pretty well for Bart Starr and the Packers in the Ice Bowl.”


The Packers' frustration is understandable, considering how effectively the Eagles utilize the Tush Push. Philadelphia has perfected the play, turning it into an almost unstoppable weapon, particularly in short-yardage situations.
