NEW DELHI: Miami Dolphins star wide receiver Jaylen Waddle has been ruled out for the upcoming clash with the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday.

The decision comes after Waddle sustained an ankle injury during last Sunday's victory over the Dallas Cowboys and subsequently missed practice sessions on both Wednesday and Thursday. The official ruling was made by the Dolphins on Friday, ensuring Waddle's absence in the crucial matchup.

During the Cowboys game, Waddle, who also dealt with an eye injury, played only 28 snaps and managed to secure just one pass—a notable 50-yard reception on Miami's opening drive. The limited involvement was a stark contrast to Waddle's usual impactful contributions on the field.

Despite the setback, Waddle, at 25 years old, has had an impressive season, amassing 72 receptions for 1,014 yards and scoring four touchdowns in 14 starts. The 2021 first-round pick has etched his name in Dolphins history as the first player to achieve 1,000 receiving yards in three consecutive seasons.

The absence of Waddle poses a challenge for the Dolphins as they face the Baltimore Ravens, who hold a 12-3 record and have the opportunity to secure the coveted No. 1 seed in the AFC with a victory on Sunday.

The Dolphins, with an 11-4 record, will aim to overcome the absence of their star receiver and make a statement in the crucial matchup.
