Jerry Jones is an American businessman, owner, president, and general manager of the Dallas Cowboys of the National Football League (NFL). In 1989, he bought the team from Bum Bright. Jerry Jones' viral video on social media inadvertently mentioned the size of a Cowboys player's private parts, leading to confusion and embarrassment for Cowboys owner Jamie Foxx. Jones listed the player's measurements but inadvertently spoke about the player's private parts, causing the internet to be filled with confusion.

Jerry Jones addressed the video while speaking with 105.3 The FAN in an interview, saying: "He’s a great friend. We have had a lot of experience watching players, talking about players, talking about games. It’s just kind of ironic I think when that was supposed to have happened a few years back. But I don’t recall it.”
In 1989, Jones purchased the Dallas Cowboys for $140 million and relieved Tom Landry of his position as head coach by installing Jimmy Johnson. Under Jones, the team won Super Bowls XXVII, XXVIII, and XXX. Though Jerry Jones was widely criticized at first for just being a hired gun, his leadership has demonstrably increased the value of the franchise to around $10 billion dollars. He also was aggressive in getting great television deals and played a key role in the success of the NFL financially.
Criticized for his high visibility as well as controversy-laden decisions, he still found accommodation with Johnson when the year 2023 comes and inducted him into the Cowboys Ring of Honor. Inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2017, Jones has an estimated net worth of $8.5 billion; of course, mostly sourced from the ownership of Cowboys.
While peaking about the Cowboys' terrible start to the 2024 season during an interview with the 105.3 The FAN, he was asked if he was the Cowboys' biggest problem. “That’s very fair. How could you think otherwise?… I accept that completely,” he said. "It's well known that no decision is ultimately made [if I don't approve it]. That's very fair.”
The owner and GM of the Cowboys, Jones, has been blamed for the team's failures due to his approval of every major decision. He is currently considering whether to fire head coach Mike McCarthy or hire Bill Belichick. Despite being occupied with media duties this season, Jones hopes to return to the NFL as a coach, with fans and analysts calling for him to be hired as the new head coach.
