Defensive Player of the Year Myles Garrett plans trip to Italy to support Chloe Kim’s quest for third straight Olympic gold

Myles Garrett has wrapped up another dominant NFL season, but his next big moment will not happen on a football field. As Super Bowl 2026 week unfolds in San Francisco, the Cleveland Browns defensive end is already thinking about Italy. His girlfriend, Olympic snowboarder Chloe Kim, is preparing for the 2026 Milan Winter Olympics, and Garrett plans to be there in person. Garrett has had a busy stretch himself. He picked up Defensive Player of the Year honors at NFL Honors on Feb. 4 and made appearances during Super Bowl week on behalf of Uncrustables. Still, once his football commitments are done, his focus shifts entirely to Kim and her shot at history.

Garrett shared that his turnaround will be quick, but he would not miss this for anything. "I finish up here Sunday, get back for about 12 hours, and then I hit the road and go to see her," he tells PEOPLE on Friday, Feb. 6 about traveling to Italy for the games.
Kim, 25, is competing in the women’s snowboard halfpipe event, with qualifiers beginning Feb. 11 in Italy. She won gold at the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Games and again at the 2022 Beijing Games. If she wins in Milan, she will become the first person to complete a three peat in Olympic history. Garrett says their relationship is built on steady support. During the NFL season, Kim checks in constantly. Now he is doing the same for her as she prepares for the biggest competition of her year. "We're both just so supportive of one another," says Garrett, who is in San Francisco on behalf of Uncrustables. "She's always texting, she's always calling to see how I'm doing during the year and I'm doing the same right now, checking on her, seeing how she's feeling, emotionally and physically."
He describes himself as trying to return the favor. "I'm just trying to be her rock because throughout the year she's mine." Their bond also comes with a playful competitive streak. "It's so competitive," he says. "When we get into our sports, even when we play games against each other."
Garrett even jokes that he wins when it comes to romance. "I'm more romantic than her."
The couple first sparked dating rumors in May 2025 when they attended the Crunchyroll Anime Awards together in Japan. They confirmed their relationship in November 2025, when Kim supported Garrett at a Browns game against the Las Vegas Raiders.
For Garrett, the offseason is not about rest. It is about showing up for someone chasing greatness.
