The cause of the three Kansas City Chiefs fans has been revealed whose dead bodies were recovered in the backyard of their friend’s home.
The incident took place in January 2024. Forensic reports have confirmed that the three have died due to cocaine toxicity.
Addressing a press conference, Platte County Prosecutor Eric Zahnd said, “all died of Fentanyl and cocaine combined toxicity.” The three named as David Harrington, 37, Clayton McGeeney, 36, and Ricky Johnson, 38.
Two found guilty for the death of the three Chiefs fan
Platte County Prosecutor Eric Zahnd on March 5, Wednesday said, “This case is a tragic reminder of the dangers of street drugs.” “But make no mistake, the people who supply those drugs can and will be held accountable when people overdose,” he further added.
The arrest warrant named Ivory Carson and Jordan Willis for the murder of the three Chiefs fans. Both of them are charged with “distribution of a controlled substance and three counts of involuntary manslaughter,” Zahnd said.
Attorney for Willis, John Anthony Picerno expressed that he was “surprised” to know Willis was found guilty for the death of his three friends. He said, “adding that it was "contrary to what the prosecuting attorney's office told me several months ago.”
While speaking to KCTV, Picerno said, “Jordan maintains that he is not responsible for purchasing or supplying the drugs that led to the deaths of his three friends.”
“We are very much looking forward to the day a jury gets to hear all of the evidence in this case,” Picerno says as he awaits the investigation to run its course.
Jordan Wills and Ivory Carson are both held on $100,000 cash bond and a minimum penalty of 10 years of imprisonment, according to a report.
“The probable cause statement alleges that Mr. Willis was determined to be the major contributor of DNA found on that bag,” Zahnd said while addressing the media.
“The other bag contained fentanyl and the probable cause statement alleges that Mr. Carson was determined to be the major contributor of DNA on that bag,” he added.
Zahnd also said that one witness has claimed that he was with the three friends at the Willis’ rental home where they smoked up marijuana.
