Aaron Glenn’s appointment as Jets head coach sparks divided reactions, with fans sharing mixed opinions

The New York Jets have not had a good run on the field in the 2024 season of the NFL. But they are all focused on making the 2025 NFL season much better for the team. As a first step towards this, they had been looking for a capable head coach for a few months after firing Robert Saleh in the middle of the season. Now, as per NFL network and ESPN, it seems like the New York Jets have finally found a capable head coach for their team in Aaron Glenn.


Aaron has been a phenomenal coach in his career so far. After playing with the Houston Texans, he retired back in 2010 and began his coaching career in 2012. In 2014 he became an assistant defensive backs coach for the Cleveland Browns and later became a secondary coach for the New Orleans Saints in 2016.
In 2021, he was signed by the Detroit Lions as a defensive coordinator and later signed a multi year deal with the Lions two years later, in 2023.
The New York Jets fans are ecstatic as most of them feel hiring Aaron Glenn was a smart decision by the team. A fan took to X and wrote, “Jets finally got their guy! Aaron Glenn brings leadership, defense, and a fresh perspective. Could this be the start of something special? 🚀”
Another fan wrote, “Aaron Glenn stepping into the head coach role—Jets fans, are we feeling optimistic? 🔥✈️”


But some fans have a different opinion on this decision; many believe that the New York Jets team is “cursed”. The only time that the New York Jets have been able to win a Super Bowl was back in 1969, when it was led by NFL icon Joe Namath.
Since then, no matter how hard the New York Jets have tried, they have never able to win a Super Bowl. Echoing the same emotion, a fan wrote, “Bless his heart. I wish him well but it seems the Jets are cursed”, while another fan wrote, “We really just can’t win 🥲”
New York Jets’ star player, Aaron Rodgers has spoken about how he would not be making a decision regarding his future in the team until the team hires a new head coach or a general manager. Appearing on the popular The Pat McAfee show, Aaron said, “I think everybody understands that it’s going to come down to a GM and a coach and myself and whether we all want to do a dance together or if it’s not in the cards.”
With Aaron Glenn joining the team, it might be a fresh start for the New York Jets.
