VISAKHAPATNAM, April 6: An impressive 64 by Faiz Fazal helped Vidarbha beat Himachal Pradesh by 29 runs in the fourth quarterfinal of the Vijay Hazare Trophy at the ACA-VDCA stadium here on Sunday.
In the semifinal on Tuesday, Vidarbha will take on Saurashtra and in the first semifinal on Monday, Mumbai clash with Bengal. Put in to bat, Vidarbha made 204 runs in 49.4 overs with Ravi Jangid, Urvesh Patel and Viraj Kadbe making contributions of 36, 40 and 31 respectively.
Ashok Thakur claimed 4/38, while VS Malik took 2/40. Kuldeep Diwan and Vishal Bhatia claimed one wicket each. In reply, Himachal Pradesh were all out for 175 in 45.4 overs. Sangram Singh (38) and Manvender S Bisla (37) were the only batsmen to make decent scores.
