Victor Wembanyama's availability is not the concern for the San Antonio Spurs heading into Game 3 of the NBA Finals. But certainly, they are finding a way to stop the New York Knicks' momentum. San Antonio is trailing 2-0 in the series, and the spotlight naturally falls on its biggest star. The good news for Spurs fans is that Wembanyama enters Monday night's matchup at Madison Square Garden fully healthy and off the injury report.
That, however, only answers part of the question facing the Spurs. Wembanyama has been on the floor for both Finals games, yet New York still managed to seize complete control of the series. As San Antonio prepares for what feels like a must-win contest, the challenge is no longer about whether its franchise cornerstone can play. It is about whether the team can unlock a better formula around him against a Knicks squad thriving on toughness, defense, and relentless effort.

Yes. Victor Wembanyama is expected to play Game 3 and has no reported injury concerns entering the contest.
The 22-year-old has endured a demanding season and offseason stretch, but he has managed to stay healthy at the most important stage of the year.
For a Spurs team staring at a daunting 2-0 Finals deficit, having the reigning Defensive Player of the Year available is essential. Yet the first two games have shown that availability alone will not be enough to swing the series.
Spurs are ready for one more push alongside Victor Wembanyama
Wembanyama's numbers have remained impressive, but the Knicks have made life difficult for him. Much of that starts with the physical defensive work of Karl-Anthony Towns and Mitchell Robinson. Towns, in particular, has presented problems on both ends of the floor.
Defensively, he has disrupted Wembanyama's rhythm and limited easy opportunities. Offensively, he has forced the Spurs star to expend valuable energy in difficult matchups.
Such a constant workload has become one of the defining themes of the Finals. Wembanyama has frequently served as San Antonio's last line of defense, rotating as a help-side rim protector while also handling responsibilities against multiple frontcourt players. The result has been a series that demands maximum effort on nearly every possession.

Still, Wembanyama's confidence has not wavered. Even with the Spurs on the brink of falling into an even deeper hole, he continues to embrace the challenge.
“I think the key is acceptance a lot of times, taking a step back, realizing all the journey that’s behind this and what’s ahead of this. I think this is everything that I wished for. There’s really no reason to overthink it. This is what I’m built for,” said Wembanyama on Sunday.
His mindset has remained consistent throughout the Finals. Speaking about the physical battle that has defined the postseason, Wembanyama added, “The challenge [has] been mostly about willpower, the will to do it, and I feel like I’ll take a breather at the end of the season.”
Now the series shifts to a packed Madison Square Garden with the Knicks holding all the cards. Wembanyama will be on the floor for Game 3. Whether he and the Spurs can solve New York's physical approach and turn the Finals around is the question that will define the night.
