Will Damian Lillard play against the Chicago Bulls tonight? Latest update on the Milwaukee Bucks star's injury report (December 28, 2024)

Milwaukee Bucks star Damian Lillard has been listed as “questionable” for his team’s upcoming game against the Chicago Bulls. What’s even more concerning is the fact that Giannis Antetokounmpo has been listed as “questionable” right beside Lillard. Without these two on the floor, the Bucks will struggle to hold back the Chicago Bulls, who are currently the 10th seed in the Eastern Conference.

This will mark the fifth game that Lillard has missed for the Bucks as he has been out of action since the NBA Cup Finals. Dame was first sidelined with a calf strain and has since been missing because of an illness. The Bucks have held their own without Lillard and have won two out of the four games he has missed.

He is currently averaging 25.7 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 7.5 assists per game. Without him, the Bucks lose out on a massive chunk of offense, but one way or the other, they always manage to fill in their gaps. One person who deserves enormous credit for the Bucks’ stunning record without Lillard is Giannis Antetokounmpo. The two-time MVP winner is averaging 32.7 points, 11.6 rebounds, and 6.0 assists.

From the looks of it, The Greek Freak has put Milwaukee on his back and seems determined to win them another championship this season. Shooting an astonishing 61.3% from the floor, stopping Antetokounmpo has been impossible. If Lillard recovers well and can play up to his usual levels, the Bucks will go far in the playoffs.

However, their toughest opponent this season will prove to be the reigning champs, the Boston Celtics. Defeating the Celtics will take a massive effort out of both Antetokounmpo and Lillard. Hopefully, both stars will be healthy when it is time to take on the Cs. For now, the Bucks will be heading into this game without the assurance of having Giannis and Lillard available for picking.
