BANGALORE: With three of the four members of the India women's 4x400 relay squad testing positive for anabolic steroids, the focus is now the fourth member: Manjeet Kaur, who also holds the national record in women's 400m.
According to sources, the seasoned athlete might have packed her bags and left the National Institute of Sports in Patiala soon after the positive dope tests of Mandeep Kaur and Juana Murmu became public knowledge.

Manjeet's sample was not collected during the anti-dope drive on June 25 as the AFI didn't include her in the list of athletes selected for the Asian Championship.
The official version is that she is recovering from an injury.
How Manjeet managed to evade a positive dope test has been the topic of much speculation ever since, and highly placed sources said, "Yuri's trainees were all following the same schedule and must have consumed the same supplements. Maybe the officials in Patiala helped her to get away from testing."
The 29-year-old Manjeet, one of the oldest athletes training under the now-sacked Ukraine coach Yuri Ogorodov, was in the first list of elite athletes named by the Athletics Federation of India for the London Olympics camp. Last month she arrived in Bangalore for the interstate meet but returned to Patiala.
