NEW DELHI: Indian javelin throw sensation Neeraj Chopra, often hailed as the 'Golden Boy' of India, shared a heartwarming behind-the-scenes story from the World Athletics Championships. Neeraj spoke about a special moment he shared with his rival, Pakistan's Arshad Nadeem, during the championship.
In a touching gesture, Neeraj invited Arshad Nadeem for a picture when he realised that Arshad was missing his nation's flag at that moment. The two athletes, who had been fierce competitors on the field, posed together with the Indian flag, with bronze medalist Jakub Vadlejch also joining them during this memorable moment.
"Arshad made his country proud, I felt bad I asked him about the Pakistan flag, the flag was found later, everybody was there so I asked Arshad to come and take a picture," Neeraj shared during a press conference, highlighting the camaraderie and sportsmanship that transcends boundaries in the world of sports.
Looking ahead to his future goals, Neeraj Chopra expressed his determination to retain the titles he has won. "I want to retain the titles, and I will work hard towards it. Winning those titles was a challenge, and doing it again will be tough because athletes will prepare better, and expectations from people will be there," Neeraj emphasised.

While he narrowly missed the top spot, Czech Republic's Jakub Vadlejch claimed the first position with a throw of 85.86 metres, and Germany's Julian Weber secured the third position with a throw of 85.04 metres.
