“Going to be a ridiculous fight”: Michael Bisping opens up on why Alex Pereira vs Ciryl Gane is a better choice for UFC White House card

Now, former UFC champion Michael Bisping believes the Pereira vs. Gane matchup may actually be the more exciting fight for fans.

Michael Bisping explains why Alex Pereira vs Ciryl Gane could be a better fight

During a conversation with Dana White, Michael Bisping shared his thoughts about the upcoming heavyweight clash. The former middleweight champion suggested that a fight between Alex Pereira and Jon Jones might not have produced the striking battle many fans hoped for.

Bisping explained that Jones would likely have used his wrestling skills to control the fight. He pointed to the style seen in the BMF title fight at UFC 326 as an example. According to Bisping, this could have turned the bout into a grappling-heavy contest rather than an exciting stand-up battle.

“Truly, I think it’s a better fight than Alex Pereira vs. Jon Jones. I know a lot of people wanted that, but you got to think that Jon Jones would’ve probably just tried to wrestle him, saw that with the BMF”, he said.

He believes the matchup with Ciryl Gane creates a more entertaining scenario. Both fighters are known for their striking abilities and kickboxing backgrounds. This could lead to a fast-paced fight where both athletes trade powerful strikes.

“We’re gonna see Ciryl Gane and Alex Pereira having a world-class kickboxing match in 4 ounce gloves…I guarantee that is going to be a ridiculous fight”, he added.

Pereira has already achieved major success in the UFC by winning titles in two divisions. Now he has the chance to make history again if he wins the interim heavyweight championship. Gane, meanwhile, is also one of the top strikers in the heavyweight division. He has previously fought for the undisputed title.

Notably, both men are known for their striking power. The bout could become one of the most exciting fights on the UFC Freedom 250 card.
