Who Is Marco Odermatt’s Sister Alina? The Untold Story Behind the Ski Star’s Family

As Marco Odermatt dominates the world ski arena, few spectators are aware of the path of his younger sister, Alina Odermatt, who at one time had the same dream. Now, she has a different, yet no less significant role as his most passionate friend.

Alina did not always remain only an observer. She was also a competitive alpine skier, having entered a few FIS-level events. Among her remarkable performances was winning a bronze medal in Super-G at the Swiss Junior Championship, which reflects her potential in the sport.

This notwithstanding, she left professional skiing in 2021 at the age of 20 because she could not gain entry into the elite group. She revealed the pressure of being in the same sport as one of the best in the world in the 2025 biography My World by Marco, when she admitted it was not easy to establish her own identity while living in his shadow.

After retiring, Alina became a permanent fixture in her brother's profession. She is very noticeable at the finish line at major races, where she cheers with her boyfriend, Marco, and his girlfriend, Stella Parpan.

The Odermatt family is still well-grounded and worldly, despite Marco's international achievement. Alina is at the family house in Buochs, Switzerland, where she lives with Marco and his parents, Priska and Walti.

She has frequently referred to her brother at home as nothing more than Marco, way back home, away out of the way of the international superpop icons. It is this close-knit atmosphere that has sustained the family as a humble and connected sphere, despite Marco still dominating alpine skiing.
