Vaze, Gopal win Mercedes regional round

MUMBAI: Ajit Vaze, playing in the 0-19 handicap category, and R Gopal, playing in the handicap category of 20-24 , emerged as winners in their respective handicap categories in the regional round of the 12th edition of the Mercedes Trophy, played at the Willingdon Sports Club, here, on Saturday.
Vaze and Gopal thus won a place in the Mercedes Trophy National finals, scheduled to be played in Delhi in April 2012.Vaze carded a gross score of 78 and a net score of 64.8 to emerge winner in the 0-19 handicap category, while Gopal carded a gross score of 83 and net score of 67.4.
