Football legend Ronaldinho has a miraculous escape

KOZHIKODE: Brazilian football legend Ronaldinho on Monday had a miraculous escape after a traffic signal post fell in front of the car carrying him here.
The incident occurred when Ronaldinho, who was here for a two day visit in connection with Sait Nagjee Cup football tournament, was returning after attending a function at Nadakkavu where he interacted with young students of a local school.
According to police, the traffic post, which was not in a working condition, fell down as excited fans, standing on the road side, rushed forward seeing Ronaldinho's vehicle to catch a glimpse of their football hero.
Though the post fell just in front of the vehicle, none was injured, the police officials said making it clear there was no security lapse.
Ronaldinho was in the north Kerala district to inaugurate the Sait Nagjee Cup football tournament commencing here from February 5.
The former Barcelona and AC Milan player,who is the brand ambassador of Nagjee International Football Club tournament, had received a rousing reception since his arrival in the football crazy state of Kerala.
