KOLKATA: Mohun Bagan players have written to the club management over their pending dues. Many players have their salaries pending, ranging from one month to three months.

It was learnt that, in the letter, the players mentioned the problems they are facing because of not getting the salaries and urged the officials to pay remuneration of one month within this week and the remaining amount before the end of this month.

The players also apparently mentioned that they might be forced to approach the

All India Football Federation

if their appeal is not met.

Sources informed that the officials replied to the players, saying that they are trying to make the payments at the earliest possible.

While acknowledging the problems that the players are facing, the officials said that the problem has come up owing to the current situation which has arisen out of the

Covid-19

pandemic.

Asked about the issue, Mohun Bagan's finance secretary

Debashis Dutta

said, "Our investor for this season is from Mumbai. Owing to the lockdown situation, they have not been able to operate as normal and have requested us to wait till the lockdown measures are eased in Mumbai. Once that happens, all the players will be paid their outstanding salaries."

Dutta also reiterated that all players will be paid the entire salaries as per their contractual obligations and no pay-cut will be made.

Meanwhile, regarding the incentive and bonus, the management has informed the players that it will be given as per the commitment once they receive the prize money from the All India

Football

Federation.
