KOLKATA:
Mohammedan Sporting
Club’s football secretary
Dipendu Biswas
hailed the team’s performance in the
I-League
qualifiers and also set the target for the upcoming edition of the I-League.
After six long seasons, MSC dream of securing an I-League berth finally became a reality as a comfortable 2-0 victory over
Bhawanipore FC
saw them emerge champions in the qualifiers at Kalyani Stadium on Friday.
“It is a big achievement for the club. As a technical director and football secretary, I am proud of how the boys performed. Now, our target is to emerge champions of the I-League and then make it to the Indian Super League. We will have a camp to prepare for the I-League,” Dipendu told TOI.
“As far as Friday’s game is concerned, we had a special plan for
Philip Adjah
. Eze Kingsley did really well in denying Adjah space to operate. This victory is for the players and obviously the millions of supporters of the club.”
