KOLKATA:
Mohammedan Sporting Club
have lodged a complaint against their
former coach Yan Law
at the Maidan Police Station on Monday for 'disclosing private information to an outsider'.
Hours after their 4-1 victory over ARA FC in the
I-League
qualifiers here on Sunday, the club announced that they have parted ways with the coach.
The club said in a statement on Tuesday that they had lodged the complaint as despite repeatedly requesting their coach to disassociate himself with Minerva Academy and its owner Ranjit Bajaj, Yan was in touch and had disclosed 'team XI' and team strategies to Bajaj.
Ironically, Bajaj had on Sunday threatened to take action against MSC secretary Sheikh
Wasim Akram and
Dipendu Biswas
for 'spreading false information.'
Reacting to the developments, Law said he would speak up in due course of time.
"I don't want controversy. That is why I left quietly after the match day. Despite these, I still wish them the best ahead and hope the team makes the I-League," Law told TOI.
Mohammedan Sporting will next face local rivals Bhawanipore FC in their penultimate match on Friday at
Kalyani Stadium
.
