Fortnite’s recent crossover with Mortal Kombat promised a fiery twist with the arrival of Scorpion as a boss NPC. While the hype surrounding the iconic character was sky-high, many players are now questioning whether the Mythic Scorpion’s Kombat Kit lives up to expectations — especially the fan-favorite “Get Over Here!” spear move.
Scorpion enters the Fortnite arena
Introduced as part of the v34.21 update for Chapter 6 Season 2, Scorpion can be found at one of three new locations on the Fortnite map - The Pit, Dead Pool, or The Living Forest. Players must interact with a gong to trigger a one-on-one boss battle. Upon victory, Scorpion drops powerful loot, including the Mythic Kombat Kit, the First Blood Medallion, and an Epic Collateral Damage Assault Rifle.
The Kombat Kit, which mimics Scorpion’s signature moves from Mortal Kombat, includes a fiery punch, a devastating uppercut, and the much-anticipated spear attack that pulls enemies closer. On paper, it sounds thrilling - but in practice, reactions are mixed.
Nick Eh 30 calls out Scorpion’s spear struggles
Canadian pro gamer and streamer Nick Eh 30 recently shared his gameplay experience on YouTube and X, stating, “The Scorpion Mythic was just not as good as I thought. How is it so bad at lock?” He expressed frustration over the weapon’s targeting system, claiming it was easy to counter and failed to land hits consistently - especially during fast-paced combat scenarios.
While some viewers echoed Nick’s sentiments, blaming poor hit registration and lack of auto-lock assist, others argued that players simply need to adapt.
One comment read, “Just like bullet drop, you have to lead your shots, man.”
Fanbase split over weapon balance
In typical Fortnite fashion, the community is divided. Some players feel the Kombat Kit lacks impact and precision, especially compared to other Mythic-tier weapons. Others are enjoying the dramatic flair of Scorpion’s moveset, calling it fun, flashy, and a fresh twist on close-quarters combat.
There are even comparisons to the Chains of Hades from other games, suggesting the spear mechanic has potential if refined.
Meanwhile, some have joked that “Epic never tests things before release,” while others simply want to see buffs to the weapon’s aiming system.
Scorpion’s arrival in Fortnite is undeniably exciting, but whether his Kombat Kit will become a staple or fade into infamy depends on future patches. With April 8’s mega-update looming, players hope Epic will address the balance issues.
Until then, one thing is clear: Scorpion’s “Get Over Here!” may have pulled him into Fortnite, but it hasn’t yet pulled the entire community together.
