MUMBAI: The

Mumbai Cricket Association

(MCA) is set to reward a handsome booty to the Mumbai senior team for clinching the

Vijay Hazare Trophy

earlier this month. "The decision to award the Mumbai team with the same amount that the BCCI gives as bonus for winning the Vijay Hazare Trophy (around Rs 30-35 lakhs) was taken at the

MCA's Apex Council

meeting today," a source in the MCA told TOI on Friday.

Captained by Prithvi Shaw and coached by former India off-spinner Ramesh Powar, Mumbai had won the Vijay Hazare One-day Trophy in Delhi, beating Uttar Pradesh in the final. The domestic giants had endured a poor time in the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy before that, losing in the group stage.
