Chennai Super Kings (CSK) is one of the most remarkable success stories in IPL history. Since taking charge in the franchise’s inaugural season in 2008, he has transformed CSK into one of the most consistent and dominant teams in T20 cricket.
Under his leadership, CSK have reached a record 10 IPL finals and clinched the title five times — in 2010, 2011, 2018, 2021, and 2023.
Beyond the IPL, Dhoni has also led CSK to two Champions League T20 titles - in 2010 and 2014.
But Dhoni’s impact is not limited to franchise cricket. He is widely regarded as one of the most successful captains in international cricket history, being the only skipper to win all three major ICC trophies — a feat unmatched to date.

Four years later, he scripted one of India’s greatest cricketing moments by leading the side to the 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup title, ending a 28-year wait. His iconic six to seal the win against Sri Lanka at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium remains etched in cricketing folklore.
In 2013, Dhoni completed the historic treble by winning the ICC Champions Trophy in England, with India going unbeaten throughout the tournament.
