Kanga League: Harmeet wrecks Mumbai Police with figures of 9-58
MUMBAI: Left-arm spinner Harmeet Singh took nine for 58 to help Payyade beat Mum bai Police Gymkhana by six wickets in a Kanga League 'A' Division game at the Mumbai Police Gymkhana on Sunday.
Harmeet's devastating spell ensured that Mumbai Police were shot out for 154, with the last nine wickets going down for 86 runs, before Payyade overtook the target for the loss of four wickets. All except opener Rajesh Tandel, were Harmeet's victims. The bowler's rich haul was a reminder of the talent the 25-year-old displayed as an India Under-19 cricketer.
"It's good that I'm bowling consistently well at the beginning of the season this time. I'm going in games with the confidence that I can pick wickets. It would help me when the first-class season comes. Since our team is normally packed with five-six good bowlers, it's difficult to get one long spell.
