On a suitable batting surface, Rauf achieved figures of 5-29, marking his second five-wicket haul in ODIs, as Pakistan dismissed the world champions Australia for 163 runs in 35 overs, their lowest ODI total against Pakistan.

Pakistan's new white-ball captain Mohammad Rizwan demonstrated exceptional wicketkeeping skills, contributing to six dismissals, matching the global record for most dismissals by a wicketkeeper in a one-day international.

Rizwan missed an opportunity for a seventh dismissal when he failed to hold onto a high catch from Adam Zampa towards the end of Australia's innings.
