But he missed and got hit on his pads. Now, Woakes was busy searching for the ball and was looking to his left. But the ball had rolled towards silly point. An alert Marcus Harris at silly point quickly collected the ball and had a shy at the striker's end, but he missed. Woakes was nowhere in the picture! This reminds me of an Ashes Test in Perth, 2006, at the WACA. Geraint Jones, the then keeper of England, had lunged to defend a delivery against Shane Warne. The ball went off his pads to Ricky Ponting at silly point and the entire Aussie contingent went up in an appeal for a bat-pad. But the ever-alert Ponting quickly threw the ball at the striker's end to catch Jones short and ran him out!
