NEW DELHI: Former India off-spinner Aashish Kapoor has been appointed chairman of the All-India Junior Selection Committee, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (
BCCI) announced on Thursday.
Kapoor, who replaced
Venkatesh Prasad as the head of the committee, will lead the three-member panel. The other two members of the selection panel are Gyanendra Pandey and Rakesh Parikh.
Prasad, who quit the position in March, joined
IPL franchise Kings XI Punjab for IPL 11.
Kapoor had represented India in four Tests and 17 ODIs and was a member of the national team during the 1996 ICC World Cup. He had also played 128 first-class games and 93 List A matches, taking 398 wickets and scoring 3449 runs.
