The Windies bowling was very good to begin with. Till the time the ball was new, Cottrell, Thomas and Holder, all did a good job. However, once the ball got soft, their bowlers did take a pounding. The two added a 120-run stand but just as they started to get going, the skipper got run out. Blundell then came out of his shell though, he started playing lovely shots, smashed the bowlers out of the park and got to a ton. However, the task was too much of an ask and once he fell, it was all about playing out the 50 overs for the Kiwis which they did.
