Major League Cricket granted List-A status by ICC ahead of second season

NEW DELHI: Cognizant Major League Cricket (MLC) has received official List-A status from the International Cricket Council (ICC) just in time for its highly anticipated second season, which kicks off on July 5, 2024.
This recognition marks a significant milestone in the league's growth and solidifies its position as America's premier domestic T20 tournament.
The granting of List-A status means that every performance in the league, from centuries and half-centuries to 'five-for' bowling feats, run-outs, wins, losses, and championships, will be documented as official career statistics in an internationally recognized format.
This recognition provides a platform for local US players and emerging stars to gain international acclaim, thereby boosting the development of domestic cricket talent through the MLC.
Following a successful inaugural season, the MLC's commitment to delivering top-tier cricket in the United States is further emphasized by this new status.
MLC CEO Vijay Srinivasan has ambitious plans for the league's future, aiming to expand from a 19-game season in 2023 to a 34-game season by 2025.

Given the sell-out crowds during the inaugural season, fans are encouraged to purchase tickets early to ensure they don't miss out on the action.
General admission tickets start at $30 per person. Beyond the matches, the season promises a vibrant atmosphere with entertainment, fireworks, free giveaways, player signings and meet-and-greets, merchandise giveaways, food trucks, and samples throughout the tournament.
