NEW DELHI: Punjab Kings captain
Shreyas Iyer won the toss and opted to bowl against
Chennai Super Kings in an Indian Premier League match in Chennai on Friday.
For Chennai Super Kings, star South African batter Dewald Brevis still did not make it into the playing XI, as he's still out injured.
Brevis was also not named in the impact substitutes list of the team.
CSK made one change to their playing XI, bringing in Prashant Veer in place of Matt Short.
CSK had lost to Rajasthan Royals by eight wickets in the opening match while Punjab Kings defeated Gujarat Titans by three wickets.
"Well, I think, you know, for me it looks a bit on the drier side. And I don't think so it will change too much. More often than not, it will remain the same. And, you know, it's the early part of the April, so I don't think dew will be a key factor in the second inning. So I think, runs on the board and definitely you can depend on this track," CSK captain Ruturaj Gaikwad said at the toss.
Meanshilw, PBKS skipper Shreyas Iyer said, "I'm going to bowl first since it's their first match on the home ground. I feel the wicket is fresh. It would be a great thing to know how the wicket is going to play. So, based on those, I've taken this decision."
