CSK won't lose out on revenue due to home shift, says CEO

said that their forced move from Chennai to Pune has been extremely smooth. He also informed that CSK will not lose out on any revenue despite the last minute shift of 'home'.


"Initially, it felt like a herculean task in such a short period. We not only had to shift the team but also look at the logistical aspects such as commitment to both CSK and IPL sponsors, agreement for ticket-sales, putting up banners inside the stadium, etc. However, the entire process went smoothly with the cooperation of MCA officials. It took a lot of effort but it all paid off. Now, we can say that CSK might not make any revenues this time but we will not lose out on any," Viswanathan told TOI on Friday.

It won't be a full-house though at the stadium, which has a capacity of around 40,000 on Friday even though the franchise, is bringing in about 1000 fans from Chennai by a special train. "The fans have always been loyal to us. So once they approached us, we quickly made some arrangements. We have decided to provide them with tickets, accommodation, food for this match. We are expecting a crowd of 20,000 and it is decent enough given the short time. But there is still a day to go and the ticket sales might surge at the last moment," Viswanathan said.
