TN take first-innings lead against Chattisgarh

CHENNAI: Tamil Nadu find themselves in a commanding position after claiming a first-innings lead of 174 runs against Chattisgarh on Day 3 of their U-19 Cooch Behar Trophy clash at Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium in Raipur on Tuesday.
Resuming the day on 107/2 in reply to TN's first-innings total of 375, Chattisgarh were bundled out for 201 with S Ajith Ram picking up 4/38 for TN.Ajith was ably supported by R Sonu Yadav and Lokesh Raj, who scalped three wickets each. Made to follow on, the hosts showed much more resilience in the second innings, though, as they reached a total of 145/0 at stumps. The good work was done by the opening duo of Sanidhya Hurkat (82 batting) and Naved Ali (53 batting), who struck unbeaten half-centuries to leave the hosts 29 runs adrift of the deficit.

Hyderabad fold up for 161 in U-16 Vijay Merchant Trophy clash: Tamil Nadu bowled out Hyderabad for 161 on Day 1 of their U-16 Vijay Merchant Trophy encounter at Gymkhana Ground in Hyderabad on Tuesday. For TN, the wickets were shared primarily between Manav Parakh (4/31), Adhithya Muralidharan (3/22) and P Nirmal Kumar (2/35). In reply, the visitors were 50/2 at stumps on the opening day.
