NEW DELHI: Australia's women's cricket team faces a crucial match against India in the ICC Women's T20 World Cup on Sunday, grappling with injuries to key players. Fast bowler Tayla Vlaeminck and captain Alyssa Healy sustained injuries during the team's victory over Pakistan on Friday, impacting the team's lineup.

Tahlia McGrath, an all-rounder for Australia, remains positive about the team's prospects.

"The thing about this Australian side is how much depth we've got. Captaincy point of view, wicket-keeping, we've got so much depth... time to use it," she said following their nine-wicket win against Pakistan.

With Healy likely sidelined, Australia will need a new captain, wicketkeeper, and opening batter for their game against India.

Player of the Match Ashleigh Gardner acknowledged the challenge ahead.

"We have a really big challenge coming up against India. They will certainly challenge me personally, and we have had a few good battles with them over the years," she said, emphasizing the importance of team unity.

India, ranked third globally, have a recent track record against Australia.

In a T20I series earlier this year, India secured a notable victory by bowling Australia out for 141 and chasing the target with ease, spearheaded by strong performances from Smriti Mandhana and Shafali Verma.

Both batters showed good form in India's recent win over Sri Lanka.

As the defending champions, Australia's depth and adaptability will be crucial as they aim to advance in the tournament.
