Champions Trophy venues: Which stadiums in Pakistan are set to host the tournament?
NEW DELHI: The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 fixtures and groupings were announced on Tuesday, December 24. The tournament will kick off on February 19 in Karachi, with the final scheduled for March 9.
The eight-team tournament will feature 15 matches played across Pakistan and Dubai.

In Pakistan, Rawalpindi, Lahore, and Karachi have been selected as the three host venues. Each venue will host three group games, with Lahore also set to host the second semi-final.

Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium is slated to host the final on March 9, unless India qualify, in which case the final will be held in Dubai. Both semi-finals and the final will have reserve days. The three group matches involving India, as well as the first semi-final, will be held in Dubai.
Here’s a look at the three Pakistan venues for the tournament: GADDAFI STADIUM, LAHORE
Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore is one of the world’s most iconic cricket venues. Built in 1959, it has a seating capacity of approximately 27,000. The stadium famously hosted the 1996 ICC Cricket World Cup final, marking a historic moment for Pakistan cricket.
The venue features state-of-the-art floodlights, spacious dressing rooms, and a world-class media center. Corporate boxes, hospitality areas, and ample parking enhance the fan experience. During the Champions Trophy, Gaddafi Stadium will host three group-stage matches: Australia vs. England (February 22), England vs. Afghanistan (February 26), and Australia vs. Afghanistan (February 28).
NATIONAL STADIUM, KARACHI
The National Stadium Karachi, established in 1955, is Pakistan’s largest cricket venue, with a seating capacity of around 34,000. Renowned for its lively atmosphere, it hosted the 1996 World Cup quarterfinal between South Africa and the West Indies.
In the Champions Trophy 2025, it will host Pakistan vs. New Zealand (February 19), Afghanistan vs. South Africa (February 21), and South Africa vs. England (March 1).
RAWALPINDI CRICKET STADIUM, RAWALPINDI
Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, built in 1992, has a capacity of around 17,000. Known for its fast pitches, it is equipped with floodlights, a media center, and excellent drainage facilities.
The venue will host Bangladesh vs. New Zealand (February 24), Australia vs. South Africa (February 25), and Pakistan vs. Bangladesh (February 27).
Groups:Group A: Pakistan, India, New Zealand, Bangladesh
Group B: South Africa, Australia, Afghanistan, England
